About Amanda

Hello! My name is Amanda. I taught in Missouri for 9 years, the last four focusing on literacy and reading intervention with high school students. I am a state-certified reading specialist for grades K-12. I also hold lifetime secondary ELA/English certifications in Missouri. I have a Master's in Literacy Education where I focused on students with dyslexia and other learning differences. As an adult with learning differences myself, I am able to connect to students who struggle with more than the curriculum. I have access to many different programs, including those designed to specifically help identify and teach students with dyslexia. Most of my classroom experience has been at the secondary level, but I love children of all ages. I am also experienced tutoring in math through high school algebra, as well as editing all types of writing from fiction to academic.
