About Amanda

For the past 20 years I have been a babysitter, camp counselor, nanny and preschool teacher. I studied Early Childhood Education at Rhode Island College and have 12+ credits in ECE. I believe in play based education and love everything about forest school. My approach with children is a mix of conscious discipline and gentle parenting that foster the child's emotional and social development. My family and I relocated to Santa Rosa last year from the hills of Humboldt and we now live in the beautiful Junior College neighborhood. My daughter is 4. 5 years old and is my greatest teacher. We enjoy spending most of our time outdoors, especially in the garden. I am a 200 hour trained Hatha yoga instructor and value nutrition and well being above all. I believe children should spend most of their time outside in nature exploring the earth and their own creativity. As an artist myself, I tend to spend a lot of time doing art projects with children, especially nature crafts.
