About Amanda

I work for Iowa City CSD with 13 years of teaching experience. My Master of Arts is from Hamline University in Language Acquisition. My college minor is Biology. My teaching licenses are K-12 Spanish, English Learning Language (EL) and Elementary Education. I am a strong academic writer and comfortable tutoring through Algebra II. I created individualized tutoring after listening to families and individuals express a desire for a high quality, reliable certified teacher who is invested in their/ their child's success and able build lessons to move them to proficiency in Reading, Writing, Math, and Academic English language. I have 13 years of certified teaching experience in St. Paul, MN, Colombia, and Mexico. We speak Spanish at home. Class sizes are large and students' academic needs are diverse. Tutoring should be short-term, because an effective tutor helps you build skills and strategies to be a self-sufficient learner. I look forward to work with you and your family.
