About Amanda

Hello! My name is Amanda and I am have been a middle school math teacher for the past 7 years. I taught 7th and 8th grade math during the pandemic, both online and in person. I have my B. A. in Secondary Education & Mathematics. I have my M. A. in Instructional Technology. I am passionate about helping students increase both their confidence and skills in math. Through my teaching experience I have also built up toolkit of motivation strategies, and I have 10 years of tutoring experience. My approach to tutoring is meeting the student at whatever level they currently are at and helping to build both their conceptual understanding of the material as well as their mathematical problem-solving skills. I have worked with students to understand notes they took in class, to helping with homework, as well as prepare for assessments.
