About Alyssa

I am an adaptable and passionate Elementary Teacher. I have 2 years of experience working in a classroom, as well as 3+ years working with elementary students, ranging from enrichment clubs, after-school tutoring, and RTI groups. I found my passion towards teaching through my years as an AmeriCorps Member. I'd describe my personality as fun, caring, and a book-lover. I like tutoring because I have seen so many of my students flourish during the moments they are able to get 1:1 sessions. I'm looking for a job that has flexible hours and family that will collaborate with me. I started tutoring during my AmeriCorps term. It was after-school tutoring at a local elementary school in Knoxville, TN. In my spare time, I like to read, knit, and crochet! You can typically find me hanging out at a local coffee shop or bookstore. One thing you should know about me is I will focusing on building relationships with both you and your child. My skills include phonics, math, and reading.
