My biggest experience with special needs care is with my autistic step brother. He has many problems communication and with writing so doing homework with him takes patience but I know he had ideas and goals he just had problems expressing them. I myself have learning disabilities that effect my fine motor skills and my comprehension however I have work very hard in my life to not let that define me. Having my own disabilities helps me work with my step brother because I understand what its like to be him. Children with special needs then to gravitate and listen to me when I tell I'm just like them so they don't feel like their being talk down to or that no one understand because most children with these needs tend to feel that way. I know I did when I was younger. Because of my unique perception with these kids I believe I am a good choice for a care taker for your special child.
