About Alyssa

I've always enjoyed working with kids because I love watching them grow and learn, and because it's so fun to see their personalities develop over time. I first started working with kids when I was around 12 with babysitting jobs, then I worked at summer camps (ages 1-4 and 8-14) for most of my teenage years. I began pursuing degrees in Elementary Education in 2020, and have successfully earned both an Associate's degree from Ivy Tech as well as a Bachelor's degree from Purdue University. I worked as a preschool teacher following graduation, but have since chosen to leave the classroom. My skills include working with picky eaters to try new foods, consistency with rules and boundaries, and teaching through play. I also have spent time working with students with Autism, students with behavioral difficulties, and English language learners. In my spare time, I like to read, knit, and work on various outdoors projects such as gardening. I'm excited to meet you!
