About Alyssa

Hi there! I am a Marist College graduate ('15) with my BA in Communication/ Journalism as well as an MFA graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design ('23). I have worked for a CT Board of Education substitute teacher where I taught grades K-8. During the pandemic, I worked full-time as a private tutor for a 4th grade distance learner with ADHD, providing academic support and guidance on a daily basis. My expertise is in English and the Arts, however I am more than comfortable helping with other homework subjects, distance learning and test prep. I enjoy implementing creative approaches to learning based on each child's specific needs and interests. No two learners are alike, and as such, my approach starts with building a rapport with my students so I can best meet their needs. I look forward to working with your family!
