About Alyssa

Hello students and their parents! I am an enthusiastic English tutor, and have helped many students gain confidence in reading comprehension, grammar, and writing! I particularly love working with High School students, and my favorite things to teach are writing skills. Are you an AP student or about to apply to college and need help sprucing up those essays? Are you struggling knowing where to start constructing an essay? I am here for you! I have over 5 years experience working with general education as well as special education students. I can help students with ADHD problem solve their challenges and create healthy organizational habits. I have experience tutoring SAT/ACT testing as well. My philosophy is always student-centered. I am here to be your biggest cheerleader! I have a BA in Literature and Psychology from UCSC, and I am currently enrolled in a Master's in Counseling program. I love working with students, and I hope to continue working as a school counselor.
