I am the energetic mother of 4 grown children and was a caregiver for over 25 years to my brother, who I grew up with, and had Downs Syndrome. He came to live with me shortly after I married and he was an integral part of my family. I was fully responsible for every area of his life and daily care. I implemented all of his school and work programs as well as recreational and social activities in our local community. He had a membership at the Y and loved to swim. I took him to canteens and dances. He enjoyed bowling and movies. He especially liked to go out to shop or eat. He loved having fun and I enjoyed having fun with him. I cared for him in his wonderful health as well as in his sickness. I have a passion and desire to work with others who have special needs and serve them with love and compassion. I am currently employed by the Division of Developmental Disabilities.
