My experience with an individual with special needs isn't extensive, but it was an experience that has stuck with me and has made me see the world differently. I have previously taken care of a2-year-old boy who was visually impaired, which then was a sort of domino effect on how his other body parts functioned. There were a lot of speech therapies as well as physical therapies that took place throughout the week that I would oversee so as to learn what to teach him when the therapists went home. I have been a nanny for the past 8 years, and besides this 2-year-old boy, have helped families with their kids and housework in general that did not have any special needs requirements. With this said, I would like to work more with an individual who is more in need of help because I want to do the most I can to make sure care is provided in the utmost way, spreading my calm and positive personality to those who may benefit more from my services.
