I spent two summers as a camp counselor at Camp Sunshine of Aurora. While there, I learned from professors on YSU's special education program and many graduate students in their program. I worked with students diagnosed with Autism, CP, visual impairment, charge syndrome, and Down syndrome. I also worked with multiple assistive communication devices. Outside of camp, I did behavioral therapy with a 10-year-old with a diagnosis of ADHD. While working with him, I planned daily lesson plans and reward systems. My degree is in biomedical humanities, a minor in biology and area of specialization in physics, but I had time in college to also explore my interest in education by taking several education courses.
