About Allison

Growing up as a teenage babysitter, I received the Babysitter & Advanced Care Certification through the Red Cross. Now as an adult, I am much more experienced and have taken college courses to deepen my understanding of child development and psychology. My approach to childcare is rooted in respect, trust, empathy and curiosity. I am influenced by the theories of RIE parenting and the Circle of Security. Along with the social components, I am also certified in CPR and First-Aid. I love to engage children of all ages with outdoor experiences, specifically through art, science, or survival skills, while also allowing them space for unstructured yet supported play time. For a week every June I am a lead kids camp instructor (ages 5-12) at the Saskatoon Circle Skills Gathering, so I have many outdoor projects to facilitate. I have experience with children from infancy to high school (as a youth mentor), with the majority of my childcare experience being from 0-13.
