I am working full-time at a children focused non-profit. I am a DePaul graduate, who has now lived in Chicago for over 7 years. I am looking for additional opportunities outside of normal work hours. I began babysitting at 13 taking care of two children ages 5 and 8, and their dog through ages 9 and 12. We went on park trips, did crafts, baked, played games, and spent time outdoors. Throughout college I regularly babysat and nannied for kids ages 2-12. We spent time creating healthy meals, read, played board/card games, did crafts, had water balloon fights, and spent lots of time playing sports. I am currently babysitting for date nights and when needed as a parent helper for two families. One 8-year-old boy and the other a 2-year-old girl. I love to cook, tell stories, and take part in anything creative. I enjoy organizing and cleaning, and am happy to assist with any additional housework and putting kids to bed. Allison is bright, reliable and fun-loving with our two children. She related to both our son and daughter through play, and always brought a bag of activities she had prepared: homemade play dough, a favorite book of her own, items to hide for a treasure hunt, colored bubbles, etc. The fact that Allison always arrived promptly with goodies demonstrated to us her sincerity, enthusiasm and professionalism. She structured time well, honoring our requests for daily routines, meals and activities; this was important to us! In addition, the kids enjoyed doing their summer studies with her guidance and encouraging manner. We feel fortunate to have had Allison in our home. Her approach to caring for our children complimented our parenting style. Allison always respected our personal philosophies while being confident enough to independently make day-to-day decisions. The kids, my husband and I adore Allison, she was a part of our family for the three summers she nannied for us. She was a gift to us, knowing that are children were safe and well-cared for. I recommend Allison with full confidence.
