About Allie

I have worked with children in a variety of settings and capacities throughout my life including childcare (ages newborn to 18), teaching (pre-school to sixth grade), tutoring (all ages), and elementary education administration (inner-city non-profit and private institution). Growing up invested in the upbringing of my much-younger siblings, I studied psychology with a concentration in child/youth studies at the University of San Francisco, and have been working with children ever since. I am CPR certified, and bilingual in English and Spanish. My philosophy and objectives in working with children are to: *Facilitate a warm, caring, and safe environment, encourage exploration and expression, maintain secure boundaries, and develop a fun, but firm setting. *Interact with children on a personal level by playing on the floor, reading, listening to concerns, and assisting in problem solving when necessary. *Promote peaceful interaction and shared play, and re-direct to new activities.
