I have house sat and pet-sat for several families over the past year who have had dogs and cats. I have two pretty self-sufficient cats myself (who are fine as long as I drop in every couple of days to feed them and replenish their water, so I can house sit overnight if needed) and have in the past had hamsters, fish, and dogs. I have also owned a horse that boarded at someone else's barn and helped care for the horses there when I went out to ride.
