I am a caregiver who loves working with those with special needs. This past summer, I worked at Easterseals Iowa as a camp counselor for those with special needs. I learned about lifts and transfers, monitoring seizures, communication devices, some ASL, personal cares, and more. Each person is different and it is important to learn communication styles, abilities, and interests so I can adapt how I care for them and curate activities around their interests and needs. I want to help everyone grow in their independence while providing a safe and healthy environment to do so. I just graduated from Drake University in May and will be starting my masters degree in Therapeutic Recreation fall of 2025.
