About Alicia

Hi! I currently teach honors English II and AP Literature at Westlake. Prior I have taught other levels within English including those new to the language or navigating learning challenges. I'd describe my personality as curious, open, and kind. I like tutoring because of the connections I make with students as we forge new ways of thinking and have fun in the world of literature. I'm looking for a job involving help on college essays, preparing for exams, or focusing on executive functioning with day to day tasks. I am open to one off or recurring jobs. In my spare time, I like to cook, bike, read and spend time with friends One thing you should know about me is that I like to focus on equipping my students with not just WHAT to thing but HOW. I am very curious, skilled at assessing problems and crafty with solutions. My skills include scaffolding thinking, helping kids think about nuance, and building writing skills.
