About Alex

Hi families! As a student who struggled with curriculum I know exactly how frustrating it is to feel left behind in your studies. I just recently graduated from Appalachian State University with my major in elementary education and a concentration in psychology. (Currently, Appalachian State is ranked in the top 10 for elementary education on teacher. org!) Throughout my studies not only did I learn the importance of including differentiation to meet the needs of each student, but the psychology behind student learning and HOW different students learn in different ways. I ensure that the students I work with are not only learning the curriculum, but conceptually understanding it on a deeper level and building confidence in themselves. I have worked in a school as an intern for homework help, worked with students at a learning center when schools were remote, and have been placed in many classrooms throughout student teaching. I am currently a 5th grade teacher in APS.
