My name is Alexis and I have been caring for children since I was 16 when I had my first nanny position. Since then I have continued working with kids while getting a college education. In college I worked at a Child Development Lab. This is where I learned how to better work with parents, find effective methods of teaching, and of course how to manage the chaos that can come with the little ones. After graduating with a degree in Asian studies I went back to caring for children. I just couldn't stay away! This year, I will be returning to school to get a Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language in the hopes of continuing my work with kids. One of my favorite things to do with the kiddos I care for is to introduce them to new things. As an Asian studies major I speak advanced Korean and conversational Japanese which I love to teach to kids!

Lex has been an absolutely invaluable nanny/sitter for my family. I was lucky enough to hire her in August 2019, just after my twins turned 8. As a single mom, having reliable childcare has always been essential. Lex’s responsibilities were before-and-after-school care, which involved getting the kids up and ready, and preparing creative and healthy lunches (the creative part was her doing). It also included prepping dinner and ensuring homework was done. She would take them to routine doctor’s visits (such as weekly allergy shots) as well as swim lessons and summer day camps. Recently, she also served as a travel sitter when a brought my kids on a week-long business trip. At all times, she has proven herself to be punctual, patient, efficient, knowledgeable, and fun to be around for kids and adults. She is calm and patient which has proven to be a huge asset as my twins learn how to better solve problems, navigate interpersonal struggles, and become all around better people. Her interests and exposure to different cultures, as well as her infallible integrity, continue to support the kids’ development. Lex also has wonderful communication skills. She makes an effort to ensure we are on the same page regarding how to approach issues with the kids and asks for clarification when necessary. She also appropriately draws attention to concerns, often offering solutions for consideration. She is extremely respectful of the parent/child dynamic and the role she plays as the sitter/nanny. We all love Lex and we will miss having her in our daily lives. We were so very lucky to have found her and look forward to always having her as a part of our family. I am truly jealous of the next family she joins.
