About Alexis

I began tutoring when I was in middle school. I volunteered during my lunch periods and discovered how much I enjoyed helping others. I have been private tutoring ever since. I am a life-long learner, and as I furthered my education, I knew that I wanted a career in teaching. I have taught students of all ages over the last 10 years. I have experience in k-12, as well as college level freshmen. In my spare time, I like to spend time with family and friends. I am also an avid reader. If I'm not teaching, I can be found in a bookstore or coffee shop. I'm also a published author, so creative writing is another activity I genuinely enjoy. I am very patient, caring, and proactive about meeting a child's needs; therefore, I am always willing to find various ways to reach a student. Learners are diverse, so after I determine a child's individual needs, I can tailor the tutoring to what suits them best. I always want the learning experience to be both fun and effective!
