About Alexandria

Hello! My name is Alex and I'm a recent graduate of Vanderbilt University's MFA in creative writing program. I'm a former English college instructor and tutor in all subjects for elementary-aged students. Beyond this, what I loved most was being able to connect with younger children by discussing and prioritizing both their academic and mental health needs. I'm very passionate about promoting creativity among children--whether it's involved crafting engaging lesson plans, taking a trip to an interactive museum, or just by having an arts and crafts session! I also have a 14-year-old sister that I've spent half of my life, (and well, her entire life), caring for. As a former tutor, I also prioritized the wellbeing of my students by discussing anxiety both inside and outside the classroom with breathing exercises and daily check-ins. In my free time, you can find me trying to gather friends in this new city, baking, frequenting community events, or watching movies with my cat.
