Hey there, I'm Alexa! A little bit about me: I am a tech nerd who loves playing video games & learning about new technologies in my free time. I have been playing around with hair colors so right now my hair is pink! Some activities that I enjoy doing with kids are baking, making music, and going swimming! I'm not afraid to get a little dirty if it means that the little ones I'm with are having a good time (bonus points if they learn something along the way!). I believe in fostering independence in children while acknowledging & validating their emotions. I make sure to listen to their frustrations and help work through them in a supportive manner to encourage the self-regulation of emotions :) I can't wait to work with you and your family!

If you're on this site, you know that caring for a child means mentally balancing a seemingly infinite number of things in the environment - the child's safety, household chores, preparing meals, caring for pets, etc. Alexa mentally and physically balances these things with such finesse that she makes Mary Poppins look like an amateur. Alexa is incredibly considerate and honest - a few times, she'd had an (unpreventable) possible exposure to COVID - and note that we have an immune compromised family member in the house - and she immediately let us know, and worked with us to quickly establish a plan for testing (tests were always negative). She's been incredibly coach-able and agreeable to our own parenting-strategy preferences. When the kiddo is napping, she knocks out so many chores that we finally feel like we can devote our evenings to actual rest and relaxation. Would definitely recommend. Also, her carrot cake is a spiritual experience.
