About Alexandra

Hello! My name is Alex and I just moved back to the midwest after over a decade on the west coast. I have a B. S. in geology and am certified in nutrition; I love science, particularly nature and health, as well as the arts and creativity. I'm passionate about the role adult caretakers and role models play in instilling in children a sense of wonder, awe, appreciation and love for the world around them. My experience working with children is manifold: tutoring science, math and reading at Score, interpreting and leading school groups at CuriOdyssey museum and Chabot Space & Science Center, after-school programs at St. Constance School, and of course babysitting for friends. I'm experienced and enthusiastic about the outdoors and love to explore natural world with kiddos but am equally happy doing craft projects, making snacks (or teaching kids how to cook nutritious meals), helping with homework, reading books, and relaxing at home.
