I have 9 years of professional experience as a nanny for various ages and personalities. I'm the kind of nanny who would rather get the kids outside and playing in the mud or building forts instead of inside on the internet or TV. I also have past experience as a youth swim instructor and youth rock climbing instructor. It is important for me to create bonds with the children I care for. I encourage kids to explore and understand their emotions by helping them reflect on why they feel this why, why it's okay to feel the vast range of emotions, and how to express these things in positive and safe ways. I think it is vital to interact with kids knowing they are a whole person with a complicated range of behaviors and feelings that will change as they navigate growing up. In addition to making sure that your kids have fun in a safe environment, I am comfortable with casual cleaning and help around the house, pets, preparing meals, transportation, and overnight stays.
