I don't have any paid experience. Nonetheless, a kid with special needs was back in high school. I helped him during gym class. I don't even know why he was in our gym class, but I helped and encouraged him. The best act I ever carried out in high school was teaching him how to jump rope. I know it was not much, but when I taught him it was such a nice feeling for me, and I'm sure he was happy too after experiencing many years without knowing how to jump rope. Oh, I also have a cousin that I believe has ADHD, but his mother for personal (religious) reason won't put him on meds. I seem to be able to deal with him and he is calm with me, though I have never been paid to be with him. I can say that it's hard work. He'll drain you. He is older now and has grown up, and I have taught and helped him recognize who he is. Now he seems like a normal kid. I'm guessing it's his age, but the point of this was to let you understand that I have patience and my calm personality seems to work with special kids.
