About Alba

For about 7 years I was talking care of a senior couple and one of them had Alzheimer's. My responsibilities included spending quality time with them (tv or they really liked to do puzzles), accompanying them to doctors appointments and repeating the information to their children, grocery shopping, assisting with the restroom and bathing, giving them their medication, and preparing food. I truly enjoyed spending time with them, I never just saw this as a job I saw my parents in these two people and they became my family. As the husband, which had Alzheimer's progressed more, he needed more help. He kind of became like this child that needed help with everything and this taught me to do this service out of love not just look at it as a job for money because this was when he was most vulnerable and needed someone that deeply cared for him to help him.
