About Alba

Where to begin? Alba was SUCH a gift to our family the past year and a half she worked as a Spanish teacher and nanny for our daughters (ages 4 and 7). She far exceeded our greatest expectations for the position. I could sing her praises all day long, but here are just 5 of her many amazing qualities that we especially valued. 1) Alba is one of the most genuinely warm and loving people I have ever had the honor of knowing. Just being in her presence immediately sets a person at ease...and our entire family left our interactions with Alba feeling more calm and at ease. 2) She has a gift for "reading the room" and sensing what is the best approach for teaching / care-giving in the moment. She almost thrives on this kind of spontaneous creativity! I was continually amazed by her out-of-the-box ideas for teaching the girls Spanish...often coming alongside side them in whatever activity they were already doing and turning it into a learning opportunity or game! 3) When we learned about Alba's passion for yoga and experience as an instructor, we asked if she would be willing to lead the girls in some yoga instruction, which she did regularly. And we saw in our daughters an increased awareness of their bodies, deep breathing, and how to calm themselves. A priceless gift. She was even willing to do family yoga sessions with us! 4) She was always reliable, faithful to show up on time or early week after week. It was such a relief to know we could count on her to be there! She even stepped in to help us out with occasional extra work days beyond her weekly schedule when we needed the help. 5) Alba is extremely flexible and easy-going. If I ever needed to adjust our schedule or have her to pick up the girls at other locations, she delighted at the opportunity, and would seize the opportunity to take them on fun outings to the playground or out to eat. She's the kind of person who really garnered that level of trust with us so quickly. And those outings our girls had with Alba became treasured memories they still talk about. We are forever grateful we met Alba, and although both our girls are in school now and we no longer have the need for a weekly nanny, she will always be in our lives. She has blessed our family beyond measure. And I am certain that anyone who hires this loving, faithful, creative, and talented teacher and caregiver will find the same to be true.
