Since I was 10 years old I have volunteered at the Special Olympics in Northeast Ohio. Most recently I ran the 8 and under events. I also ran an after school ice skating program for children with disabilities that my mom taught. This was through my high school, which they still use today :) I worked at a summer camp called Camp ! magine, which was an extended school year program for children with disabilities ages preschool through 12th grade. Here we helped the students with school work, went on field trips, and helped with everyday activities. Since August 2018, till last month I was a caretaker for a child in Ravenna, Ohio who had low functioning autism. He was nonverbal as well. My other most recent job was providing swim and water safety lessons to children with disabilities at a recreation center here in Ohio. Through our SPLASH program we taught the basics of swim as well as water safety.
