About Alaura

Hello! My name is Alaura, but I go by Lonnie, and I use she/they pronouns. I'm 27 years old and began my first full time nanny job at 16. Although there have been brief pauses over the years while in school or working with children in different settings, I always go back to nannying because I love having more one-on-one time with the kids, and being able to create a personalized care approach that's just right for each child and their specific needs. One of my favorite things I've ever been told by a family is that their kids see me as more of a big sister than a babysitter. I think the most important things we as caregivers can do is build and model safe, loving connections with children and give them the tools they need to be their most true and authentic self. Being able to work with kids brings me so much joy, and I hope for the chance to get to know you and your family!
