About Afreen

Hello! My name is Afreen, I have a Bachelors in Health Science and a Masters in Integrative Physiology. Currently, I am studying to take the Optometry Admission Test. My first experience working with kids, was when I volunteered at a DV shelter for around 4 years. At the shelter, I was certified to teach children the signs and cycle of DV, as well as methods to keep themselves safe. I accomplished this through group discussion, art, and writing. I also served snacks and dinner to the children. I mainly worked with children aged 5-12, but I would also provide babysitting services to the infants and toddlers. During the summer months, I also volunteered as a camp counselor. Currently, I've been working at a daycare for over a year. I take care of children aged 5 months to 12 years. There are usually 8 or more kids at a time. I genuinely enjoy my job, and have been told by managers and quite a few parents that I go above and beyond at how I care for the kids.
