While studying in undergrad, I was heavily involved in UMO's Best Buddies Program. I was able to build many skills and years of experiences working with folks who have a variety of disabilities. I also was lucky enough to make some life long friends. After graduating in 2018, I worked for Best Buddies CT as a Program Manager, and as a Personal Care Assistant for (2) adult men, for roughly two years (prior to the shutdown in the Summer of 2020.) I deeply loved getting to know students, staff, parents, and community members who all have a deep passion and commitment to uplifting the full humanness of those who are disabled. I would be more than willing to go through any training (if connected to a specific agency, or suggested by the parent/guardian.) Disability justice is something I tremendously care about and do my best to bring into all aspects of my life. I myself have a few "invisible disabilities," so I do my best to advocate for and support my fellow disabled friends.
