About Acacia

As a lover of children and education, I have volunteered with a head start program, ages 3 to 5, for over 2 years. While volunteering, my responsibilities were to monitor the children during outside time and dramatic play; I Also taught the children word comprehension, how to write, and read. After my need for volunteering was complete, I then started working as a teacher assistant at a private school were I was the caregiver for babies as young as 2 months and as old as 4 years old. My job consisted of changing diapers, feeding, and helping the parents potty train their young toddlers. Everyday I was also responsible for sweeping and mopping the floors, as well as, sanitizing all of the children's toys. During the Summers, I have worked as a camp counselor. As a counselor I oversaw children , ranging from 5 to 13 years old, on field trips, group activities, and outside play. As a music and sports lover, I helped organize talents shows, flag football teams and basketball competitions.
