About Abra

Hello, my name is Abra (pronounced like Abraham)! I just graduated high school and I'm starting to take my first steps into "adulthood". I started my Emergency Medical Technician training in September which I will be finishing in March, so exciting! I am unable to drive an ambulance or work in the emergency department until I turn 21, so in the meantime I hope to pursue my other passion: working with children. I've been working the same job since I was 14 years old at The Oregon Public House, a non-profit pub in North Portland. I have worked my way up to line cook and have learned many great skills such as organization, cleaning, working under pressure and of course, cooking! I am also a volunteer for S. M. A. R. T. at my old elementary school. When I was younger I struggled due to AD/HD, which brought many challenges both socially and academically, but now it gives me a deeper connection with kids and I love to step into their world of imagination, creativity and energy.
