Hi, my name is Abigail and I am a junior at the University of Colorado Boulder. I am majoring in Speech and Hearing sciences. I have worked with kids a majority of my working life, some of whom had speech disorders. To have complete transparency, my experience working with those with special needs is limited. The most significant experience was in high school we were paired with the students from the special education to write a story. I remember in elementary when I would assist in the special education classrooms, and at the end of the day I would go home to tell my mom how excited I was to be involved. I have a passion for learning, and helping people with their goals, and considering others first. This year I created a homeless fund in honor of my grandparents and through my fund I was able to feed and house over 200 homeless people for the holiday. So while my direct experience is limited, I am willing to learn and eager to help and be a friend. Thank you!
