About Abbie

My name is Abbie, I'm 21 years old & I've been helping take care of my grandparents since I was 16. My grandmother has been struggling with dementia & falls for the past 7 years & after she moved in with my parents, I'd be the one to take care of her while my parents were at work or out of town. I'm no stranger to making sure medication is being taken on time & refilling a pill container with the correct dosages. I'm experienced in talking through hallucinations, the care that goes into the aftermath of a fall, dressing & bathing, bathroom situations, etc. I understand the overall care & consideration that goes into conversations as a whole, especially with those who's aging or worsening conditions might be a touchy subject. I know I'm young & I don't have licensing or a degree in the medical field, but I know what I'm doing & now that I don't take care of my grandmother anymore, I've realized how much I enjoyed it & how much I would love the opportunity to do it again.
