I grew up in a home with an uncle with special needs. In my native country, there are no resources to assist families who have loved ones with special needs; hence, we had to care for my uncle at home. I enjoyed serving him and seeing his broad smile whenever I helped him. My love for helping others led me to work with a non-profit organization that caters to the needs of people with disabilities. I worked as a direct caregiver and subsequently as an employment consultant. My greatest joy was training and finding employment for people who do things differently. I built close relationships with the families I served. Helping to give others a chance of being the best version of themselves is my life's purpose.
