I am a recent graduate of Texas A&M University - Central Texas. My major is in English, but I went to a school in middle school and high school in which I focused on Guitar performance and took at least two years of both theater and visual arts. I played in a Orchestra as a violinist and participated in several competitions inNorth Carolina and Virginia. I was in several plays in high school and I was an assistant director for two different plays in my senior year. I also participated in community theater and children's plays in high school. In my senior year, I was musical director, improve theater instructor, and music instructor for a summer children's theater camp in my home town in North Carolina.
Through college, I have continued to play music by myself and with other people and I have performed in a community music festival when I went to college in Salt Lake City. I was in the choir during my first college semester, I took drawing, music and culture, acting and film studies.
My senior year of college, I took a nature poetry class in which I developed an interest and love for poetry as well.
I am a native Spanish speaker. I was born in Venezuela and moved to North Carolina when I was 10 years old. My parents would have me read in Spanish out-loud through high school, which allowed me to keep up my proficiency. I took AP Spanish Grammar and AP Spanish Literature in high school as well. From 2008 until I moved to Texas in 2011, I was a Spanish interpreter for a medical interpreting agency, which sharpened my vocabulary and ability to think clearly in both languages. ... show more
