My son is a 13-year-old (7th grader) who was placed in Algebra (9th grade level) and is struggling to understand the material. He is a bright kid, but being that he never took pre-algebra, and due to missing school at the start of the school year for health reasons, he is really struggling. He does have ADHD (focus can be challenging), so having patience with him is key. Solid Algebra knowledge a must so you can dive in at any chapter. He would work well with someone who is soft spoken, can explain each step (and why) slowly, and has the ability to teach in different ways for him to understand. Initially would like tutoring 3x/week for 60-90 minutes until our son is caught up with homework and comfortable with the material, then reduce frequency. Must like dogs too
