Son is considered high functioning on the autism spectrum but is not being taught the education basics, such as reading and math, in his split classrooms. He's capable of learning to read, but just needs practice and directed instruction. I only get him for extended time during the summer break so I'm trying to help him get caught up to the rest of his class.
