About the job
We need someone who is a well-versed reading specialist and can teach a very simplified yet structured curriculum in all subject areas to a highly functional special needs high school student whose programming is at the elementary / middle school level, depends on subject area. Reading and basic math are core then we pick areas to cover in a very simplified way such as US history, planets, biology, etc. to improve his awareness. We do not target exams to pass but we keep an eye on levels of comprehension. Except for reading and math, we pick simplified books on the topics to use. Must be able to provide background check info, qualification certificates. Please expect at least, one screening call and one interview with parents the child. Current tutor helper is going to grad school and will help with introductory and transition work.
