I took high school Spanish more than 50 years ago, and three semesters of Spanish through the University of California extension program about 25 years ago, but I am afraid of opening my mouth to actually speak. A Spanish class will do me no good unless its a conversational class with no more than about three students. Individual tutoring would probably be the best, forcing me to actually speak rather than simply listening to other people speaking. My grammar and vocabulary are pretty good, and I read Spanish at a high school level. My major problem is I always try to form a perfect sentence before opening my mouth, which always leaves me in behind in any actual conversation. I need the confidence to be unafraid of making mistakes and learning from the errors. My motivation? Im thinking of moving to Mexico.
