Elementary education certified with experience teaching early elementary and teaching children to read. Even better if you have experience in teaching children with special needs. A 6 1/2-year-old girl who could benefit from 1:1 support in learning how to read. She has several disabilities including autism and ADHD. We want to help her maintain and grow her knowledge over the summer in preparation for 1st grade. This may be an opportunity for long term support, including across subjects. Looking for 1-2 days a week for 30 minutes to an hour at a time to start. Patience, repetition. Visual models help to supplement verbal instruction. Very motivated by praise.
