C is in first grade and reading, writing, and letter/sounds are a struggle for him in class. He is currently on level 3 in Lexia which puts him at a kindergarten. He should be on level six to be considered early 1st grade. BOY DIBELS benchmark C knew 24 sounds and could decode 1 nonsense word. C currently knows 31 sounds and was able to decode 9 nonsense words which is still significantly below the benchmark
