My son, who is 9, excels in math. His scores are always high and it just clicks for him, however, reading and writing dont come as easy for him. He struggles to have confidence in his ability as well due to it not being his strongest area. I would like to find someone to help build his confidence, practice writing neater, go over reading strategies (sounding out words, what are parts of sentences, general 3-4th grade level stuff) and to help with reviewing for tests. He is smart and creative but his short attention span can also hinder him sometimes. Im hoping he will benefit from some one on one time with someone who is more knowledgeable in this area then myself.
