1 On 1 Education Aides Needed

The Education Aide directly supports the student at the direction of the teacher, the special education team, and any behavioral therapist(s) enlisted per the student's Individualized Education Program ("IEP"). The Education Aide shall assist in the academic and social/emotional/behavioral development of students by facilitating independence and active participation of the student in the online school community through the implementation of the IEP (including the behavior support plan, if applicable). Primary Responsibilities: - Ensure that the student logs on to online academic platform during assigned classes. - Provide one-to-one assistance and encourage participation in live online sessions. - Implement Positive Behavior Support Plans for student under direction of BCBA, Behavior Specialist, or other assigned behavioral therapist. - Prompt interventions in the areas of: behavior management, conflict resolution, anger management, and peer interaction skills based on the IEP goals or behavioral treatment plan provided by the school or licensed/certified behavior therapist. - Collect daily data and document progress notes in a prescribed format for each session with the student. - Maintain high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information. Essential Functions may include: - Preparing and setting up materials for student participation, following teacher direction. - Providing instructional, behavioral, or physical assistance to the student at the direction of the teacher to reinforce and follow up instruction. - Guiding independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work as assigned. - Checking class work and supervising testing and make-up work. - Assisting with activities such as drill work, reading aloud, and story-telling. - Alerting the teacher to any problems or special information about the student.
