My 8. 5-year-old son is twice-exceptional. Basically, he is profoundly gifted (IQ 3 standard deviations above norm) but he has a fairly severe ADHD that is not fully responsive to medication. He has difficulty navigating social interactions with peers. School is very challenging due to his hyperactivity and at times aggressive behavior. It is also boring on account of his giftedness despite skipping a year. He is currently in 4th grade. He rarely finds it challenging. His national assessment scores range from a low of 91 percentile to 99 percentile. Due to his behavior, the school is asking us to consider homeschooling him half days. We are looking for a retired school teacher to teach our son in our home. We (his parents) are both busy work-from-home professionals.
