B is really struggling with reading and reading comprehension. She is in first grade and at a kindergarten level. She started off the year getting additional time to work on reading and now the school is intervening by taking her out of science and social studies to work on reading. She has trouble sounding out and putting together most words other than her sight words. Multiple syllable words she still tries to sound out each letter and cant put them together. I have went back and worked on small words and sounds at, an, sh, ch with her to help put them together but we are still struggling and she needs help from someone more knowledgeable on this subject than I. I think someone besides myself or her mother would be more influential on her even if they worked on the same thing. She responds better to other than to us a parents.
