Hello! We are a family new to the Des Moines area, having moved here from San Francisco a few months ago. Our 11-year-old son is attending 5th grade at the local public elementary school just around the corner. He had a thorough and amazingly helpful IEP for the past several years in CA where he attended an award-winning magnet school. Our experience with the Iowa public school system thus far has been.. interesting. We're still getting used to the "no homework" thing! Given this, we need a tutor that can help create a lesson plan/study guide to keep our son up to speed with the rest of the world (outside of IA!). This would need to cover all subjects taught in 5th grade. He's also trying to learn to play the piano so if you know how, even better! If things work out, could include a few nights of babysitting as well.
