My daughter's first-grade class had some unfortunate challenges with their teacher. The primary teacher went on maternity leave and never returned, leaving the teacher assistant to take over as the main instructor. Unfortunately, the assistant struggled to provide the level of instruction and leadership needed, which has left many of the students, including my daughter, facing difficulties in second grade especially in reading and math.
